Like in any sport or anything you have to do in life you need to set goals I set some goals for myself for swimming. I made my goals once but then my dad told me they were not good enough and that I should not be basing my goals off of slow times I had last year but rather off of what I should have been swimming last year. So instead of my goal for the 100 bk being a 53.5 he changed it to a 50.5 which is an extremely fast time. So i have to work really hard to meet them.
